Dear TPS 4th Grade Families,

I am very excited to be a part of Temecula Preparatory School. I have been a teacher for over 20 years. I received my Bachelors degree from UC San Diego and my teaching credential and Masters degree from Claremont Graduate School. I began my career in Irvine Unified School District. After moving to Murrieta and taking some time off to stay home with my own children for a few years, I began working at a small charter school in San Diego. I am happy not to have to endure such a long commute to work anymore. I am married and have three children of my own. Much of my time outside of the classroom is spent at their cross-country meets, lacrosse games, track meets, and color guard competitions.

I am excited to be teaching your 4th grader. The fourth grade curriculum is very powerful and engaging. My goal is to use this curriculum to make learning fun and meaningful for each of the students. I have very high expectations for each of them. Fourth grade is a year of independence. Students will begin to take responsibility for their own learning. While working together, as parents and teachers, we will provide the cushion of support for the students, while they rise to higher levels of academics on their own.

I look forward to working with the families of our classroom!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mura-Smith
